A pretty antique Victorian sapphire daisy cluster ring, crowned with a deep-blue cabochon sapphire in the centre (approx. 0.50ct), haloed by ten twinkling old mine cut diamond petals (approx. 0.40ct total). The stones are set in a scalloped platinum gallery, with pierced sides and milgrain edging, and joins an 18ct yellow gold band at the back.
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
This Victorian cluster ring dates to the late 19th Century and is in excellent condition. It would make a gorgeous antique engagement ring, with a fine collection of precious gems crowned on top.
